Care during cancer treatment is a distinct kind of work, and it is different from ordinary elder care.

Someone in active treatment is not steadily declining. They cycle. The days after an infusion may need substantial help; the following week may need very little. Care scheduled as a fixed weekly block either overshoots and wastes money or undershoots and leaves someone alone on their worst day.
